Carter and Nixon what have we got ourselves into?
What we've gotten ourselves into is simply a clear political battle full of innuendo, half truths and lies. First and foremost: first tell me what would be wrong with eliminating an exemption for the insurance companies from federal anti-trust regulation. The whole point of anti-trust regulation is to prevent companies from monopolizing. It is the monopolies that eliminate free market competition and keep prices high. So I agree, eliminate their exemption. Second, Obama's clash was not with the Chamber of Commerce itself, but with partisan use of the consensus that didn't properly account for all voters. Finally, the president did not say he will call out those who oppose him, "But what I will not abide are those who would bend the truth – or break it – to score political points and stop our progress as a country."
