Where can i dispose of Radioactive material?

I have a really old portable Diagnostic X-Ray Generating Unit, and i don't know where to properly dispose of it. I went to the Hazardous Waste area at the dump, but they said they can't take radioactive materials. Where is somewhere i can take it to get rid of it?
