What do I do when my friend is being abused?

My friend is being physically and verbally abused by her mother and her brothers. Our friends and I(as well as Brit) have gone to the counselor about this and she suggested that brit should runaway or stay at my house or my other friends. And she knew that brit was coming to my house and she said that was good of us to be such great loving friends. When brits mom came to the school(the day before) she lied to protective services and said that brit was lying for attention. and when she came home with me, we hang out a little,(she was very nervous) but later my mother called from work and told us that Brit had been reported as a runaway and then my grandmother told us that the police would either come or we could return Britt home before that. And so we did. But the protective services can't do anything without a warrant that she is being abused cause brits mom won't let them in. AND her dad, who ually touched when she was younger then went to prison then went to iraq and is now coming to our school thursday(tomorrow) to take her to georgia(we live in Michigan) We are worried about Brittney that her mother will hurt her tonight and we'll never get to see her again. And her dad will touch her. She probably can't call the police or run out the door to the neighbors because she is afraid of her mother and now my friends and I are chatting by phone so, What can or should we do? Thanks to everyone's great advice, I made it to state in the Hershey Track and Field meet I ran in last Saturday. It was 95 degrees outside, so everyone got horrible times (mine was 6:55-I got 6:14 in the meet I ran one week before.). I placed second in the mile, 1st in the standing long jump (is 6 3/4 inches good?), and I basically just survived through the 800, because I was the onlly runner. I have 3 weeks until the state meet on the 28th. What can I do to prepare myself?

Is it worth suing my employer and/or ex partner for damages?

I have always had a sterling work record, both ethically and in terms of delivering results. Recently however, and following a very nasty break-up with my ex partner, he has made false claims of financial misconduct about me to my employer and even went so far as to produce false evidence to proof the case. RIFT game question.. Where is "My Capitol" when you first enter the Rift time portal (near beggining of game)?

If you are on the defiant side, your capital is Meridian. If you are on the guardian side, your capital is Sanctum. You probably need to uncover more of the map to find it. Furthermore, you have to be out of the trainer area (and make sure you do ALL of the quests there) before you get into that Rift that will port you to the actual game. Once you are out of the trainer, get on the main road, and keep going. It should lead you to your capital. The capitals areas are around level 10, so you should be able to reach it without a lot of problems.

A good sturdy blanket that you can swaddle him in...believe me you are going to want to steal the one from the hospital...LOL...Make sure for yourself you have plenty of pads..Easy access clothes if you are going to feed...for the hospital you might want to forget the shoes and use slippers because your feet will swell more than you have ever seen them :) Make sure you have snacks for yourself you will need your energy and just a side note while you are feeding you might want to keep a cup of water next to you it makes you thirsty....Socks for your baby and beenies....and a safe place for your baby to sleep.....I might get yelled at for this but newborns tend to sleep in weird places so do what works for you! As long as they are safe is all that matters.....Good Luck! Oh and you might want to save the formula the hospital gives you just in case......Congrats!

well it sounds like you have the right idea already! you should eat 5 small meals a day about 2 and a half to 3 hours between each meal. eat alot of protien! it takes longer to digest so it keeps you fuller longer. also eat lots of veggies, fruits, and whole grains. drink only water. try to stay away from things with added sugar, any thing white (bread, rice, pasta) those are good to eat as long as they are whole grain or brown. and just make sure you don't eat under 1200 calories a day, because then your body slows your metabolism and you will be more likely to binge. try to aim for thirty minutes of excersice a day then once you get it going up it to 45 minutes. i think it might be hard to lose fifty ounds in two months, but you can deffinitely do it!! good luck :)

i was watching ISKA competition on cable tv yesterday, and there were guys doing incredible kata's with flips, high kicks, spins, etc. there was also what looked like choreographed sparring where a guy would take on several of his students and show his countering techniques. i have great respect for these martial artists but i was also thinking none of these guys would likely last a minute in the ring with matt hughes, st pierre, rampage, etc. it might not be fair to compare MMA, which is a sport, to traditional practitioners, but on the other hand, because of MMA, is there not overwhelming evidence of what works and what does not? i don't think randy couture has a black belt, but stallone was talking about how he had most of the cast and crew on the expendables in "fear" because couture is "the real deal". American military men and women are trained to be self-sufficient individuals who can not only care for themselves but can care for their friends, families, and colleagues who wear the uniform. Now, once you add the aspect of protecting our country and our freedom back into the equation, the benefit of requiring people to serve in the military increases tenfold. In the case of your average American citizen, I don't think it's so much a case of not being able to handle the truth -- I think it's more a case of being a spoiled American who has come to expect everything to be handed to him/her just because he/she is an American. I want to become an excellent blocker and in order to even compete to play on a team I need to complete a daunting task of 25 laps in 5 minutes. I practice 2 times a week for 2 hours of straight endurance, and strength training. I am ready to make the leap to becoming a fast, agile skater. What specific training/ cross training will help me. Ok ever since i was like 8 i would go to the doctor and every 3 months and get a regular check for all bodily things. And my dad told the doctor that I weese sometimes in the sleep, she suggested asmtha. Let me tell you several times this doctor thought i had a disease and we got it tested and i neva had 1. So we got this tested and they say technichly i have Asmtha due to small lung tubes. So after 2 years i moved and i went to a new city. my doctor gave me a peak flow thingy and i always use it. after 2 more eyars we saw the number go up, more, and more. now when i take it my personal best out of 3 is 300. is 300 a normal number for a 12 yr old, very good health, and 180 lbs(alot is muscle)?

Baby always has to be fed to sleep?

I always have -- at about 9 months (he's 11 months now), he stopped needing to. usually now, we nurse and then dad takes him and rocks him to sleep, without so much as a peep. at night I still nurse him back to sleep though because we co-sleep and he still wakes, but I'm not concerned. babies will wean from this when they're ready and it's actually a GREAT way to fall asleep -- no tears, no screaming, no leaving your baby in his crib by himself. it's not a bad habit, it's teaching him that at bedtime, when it's scary and dark and you don't know where your mommy is, that you're there for him. the skin to skin contact is so comforting.

Hmm pregnancy? period? confused HELP!?

Ok so i had my last period which started on june 15th and ended on the 19th or the 20th. My cycles are normally 28-30 days. SInce my period ended iv had using the pull out method on June 25th, July 1st, 2nd. Now if i follow my cycle calender i will be due for my period on the 17th of this month. Heres the weird thing. Im overly exhuasted, Im getting 7-8 hours and it never seems enough. Half way through the day i could take a nap, im very gy which has only been going on for 2 days now, but im also pooping alot more then normal (same with the farting), My hurt soo badly, my dont which is weird. before every period my itself always hurts not the nipple, I see more viens then normal around my area but only when my are soft, when they become hard the veins seem to lighten in color a big. I also had for only one day a gel based discharge which was about a week ago. mild cramps come and go, i had them on and off yesterday but nothing today. Im sort of confused because if had some of these symptoms before my period but not so far away and or not as severe and with slight twists to them. Can anyone relate? Anyone think pregnancy? I am well aware i cant take a test until i miss my period but thats my dilema, i really dont know when i am suppose to get my period because this will be my 2nd period off of birth control. Do you think I can get into Temple or Penn State (main campus) with the 3.7 GPA and 1500 SAT score?

I took PSAT practice test this year and got 150, which would be something around 1500 for SAT. I am pretty sure I would score higher on the real SAT test later this year, cause I took this test first time ever and wasn't really ready. But I still want to know if I would be able to go through with at least those scores.
