Baby always has to be fed to sleep?

I always have -- at about 9 months (he's 11 months now), he stopped needing to. usually now, we nurse and then dad takes him and rocks him to sleep, without so much as a peep. at night I still nurse him back to sleep though because we co-sleep and he still wakes, but I'm not concerned. babies will wean from this when they're ready and it's actually a GREAT way to fall asleep -- no tears, no screaming, no leaving your baby in his crib by himself. it's not a bad habit, it's teaching him that at bedtime, when it's scary and dark and you don't know where your mommy is, that you're there for him. the skin to skin contact is so comforting.
